Face masks are one tool used for preventing the spread of disease. Face masks are loose fittings that cover the nose, mouth and have ear loops or ties or bands at the back of the head.
WHAT IS A FACE MASK USED FOR ?
Facemasks help limit the spread of germs. When some talks, coughs or sneezes they may release tiny drops in the air that can infect others. If someone is ill then the facemask helps to reduce the number of germs that the wearer releases and can protect other people from becoming sick. A face mask also protects the wearer’s nose and mouth from sprays and splashes of body fluids.
WHEN SHOULD ONE WEAR A MASK ?
One should wear a mask when they are sick with a cough or sneezing illness and expect them to around other people. The facemask will protect them from catching your illness.

Masks used by patients or care givers or close contacts during home care should be disinfected using bleach or detergents and should be disposed of either by burning or deep burial.
Improper handling of used masks and disposing it on the road side, can cause threats to the people like those who are living in platforms and in the streets, garbage pickers, passerby, and children of that area etc.,
Rough or improper handling of used masks increases that chance of spread of infection to others. And this could also be one of the reason for the spread of life taking infections such as CORONA.
